The tribe is an important part of the social structure. For many decades, Libyan tribes have formed a fundamental pillar in the structure of society and have directly influenced political and social dynamics. This study aimed to highlight the role of tribes in supporting stability in Libyan society. The study also sought to understand the concept of the tribe, its characteristics and functions, how tribes contribute to restoring and supporting stability, and to examine the challenges facing this important social component in building and supporting stability in Libyan society,The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach to describe and analyze the phenomenon, and the historical approach to trace the historical events of the tribe's positive role in political and social life. The study reached several findings the most important of which are that the tribe plays a fundamental role in enhancing political and social stability in Libyan society and despite the challenges facing the tribe its political and social role remains strong. ,The tribe remains a primary source of social and psychological support for its members and has played a prominent role in uniting conflicting tribes and restoring social cohesion in many Libyan regions. This role remains influential in the political, social and economic life of Libya.
